The jet crash site on top of Monkey Mountain!
Jet from the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard impacted in 1967 after pilot misjudged the clearance. Sadly, the pilot perished in the crash....

It was near this spot that three 1st Marine Division Bandsmen, Cpl Paul Mitchell, LCpl Victor Rabel, and Cpl John Ziegler, were killed
 in combat on February 23, 1969 at the onset of  the "second" enemy Tet Offensive
